In my free time, you can usually catch me putting together different bits of code or learning to construct new fancy functions. I enjoy building my own WordPress responsive themes and I spend quite a lot of time improving my knowledge and skills. I am open to challenges and ready to try and succeed!
Have a read of my story so you can get to know me a lil bit better!
In 2015 I joined the team at Foundry Digital as the main (and only) web developer. This is where I have been expanding and gaining the most know-how and skills working on big projects until recently, when I decided I am ready to progress further. At Foundry Digital I developed both front end and back end following a design created by the company’s graphic designer. I competently used HTML, CSS, Java Script, JQuery, PHP and MySQL on WordPress to create custom themes. I was also daily involved in the other aspects of building a website – meeting with clients and helping with graphic design. All that has helped me develop not only my expertise but also taught me to be patient and understanding in order to satisfy clients’ needs!
Started working part-time as a graphic designer whilst in college. My duties included transfering clothes patterns from paper to computer and then correcting and aligning all pieces together as a single graphic. This job has perfected my attention to detail as well as working under pressure in order to meet deadlines. This often required multitasking and being very creative. It also increased my interest in graphic design and I started exploring it further in my classes at college.
Web Developer Course – ONLINE Aug 2014 – Dec 2014 After graduating with a Computer Science degree, I decided to keep my habit of studing and do a course over Web development.I completed a short online course as a part of my continuing professional development which showed me how ro easily find new ways of achieving different web development tasks. I had the chance to watch profesionals execute different coding …….. and asked to build web pages by utilising the newly learned skills. I gained more creative skills using HTML and CSS with JQuery animation and effects.
Skill Boost and Leadership are two separate courses which were offered to me as one programme after I have graduated from university. The Skill Boost Programme aimed at teaching basic skills from finding a job to keeping it and I acquired certain useful competencies which benefited me a lot when I was looking to start my career. The Leadership Programme was more about getting involved in projects and becoming a team leader. It helped me develop a better understanding of management and emotional intelligence as well as how to employ different approaches when working with people.
During my degree I was instroduced to even more programmig languages including WordPress API, JQuery, PHP , My SQL, C++ and JAVA. I broadened my knowledge and horizons even more and after three years of dedication I was absolutely sure web development will become my future successful career! Modules Included: Database, Management Systems, Introduction to Operating Systems, Architecture and Networks, Discovering Interaction Design, Programming with Data Structures and Algorithms, Object Oriented Analysis and Design, Professional Project Development and Management, Object Oriented Software Development, Introduction to Computer Graphics, Client/Server Web System Development, Distributed and Mobile Games, Software Development Project, Current Topics in Computer Science.
After discovering and practicing web development as a hobby, I continued my education in that area in college. I studied IT for two years and I managed to expand my knowledge and skills beyond basics. This experience consolidated my decision to continue pursuing it further. I gained a solid understanding of multiple subjects ranging from Cisco networking to HTML, CSS, Java Script and Adobe package (including Photoshop and Dreamweaver).
